Mike Steele

Mike Steele, CMA, serves as the Senior Vice President of Finance at Lake Michigan Credit Union since December 2011, where responsibilities include overseeing the credit union's accounting system and preparing financial reports for senior management, the board of directors, and regulatory agencies. Prior to this role, Mike accumulated extensive experience at Independent Bank from June 1993 to December 2011, including positions as Vice President, Accounting Officer, and Financial Reporting Manager, managing a $2.5 billion general ledger and ensuring regulatory compliance. Mike began their career in accounting and finance in various capacities, including a branch manager at Union Bank/NBD, and worked as an accountant and tax preparer specializing in healthcare at Timothy Van Dommelen and Associates CPA PC. Mike holds a BSBA in Finance and Economics from Central Michigan University.
