Brian Birney is an experienced professional in marketing, communications, and community engagement. As the President and CMO of The Birney Directive since April 2013, Brian focuses on providing targeted marketing strategies for small businesses and private practices. In addition, Brian serves as President of Lake Orion's American Summer, which celebrates the local community. Brian also holds the position of Orion Township Trustee, actively contributing to community sustainability and policy decisions. Previous roles include Director of Marketing & Communications at Crittenton Hospital Medical Center, Director of Consumer Marketing & Audience Development at Detroit Media Partnership, and Race Director for the Detroit Free Press/Talmer Bank Marathon. Brian's military background includes service as a Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps, and Brian holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Public Relations from Ferris State University.

Lake Orion's American Summer
Lake Orion’s American Summer, is an annual celebration of all that is Lake Orion and America. The celebration starts with the Lake Orion Lions Club Jubilee and continues through to the Lake Orion Fireworks Association’s Dueling Fireworks show, ultimately ending on July 4. In between both events, there will be boat cruises, beer tents, pub crawls, flare nights, contests, car shows, concerts, a restaurant week and much more. We encourage all businesses and organizations to get involved, by hosting an event, volunteering for one or just attending what we already have.
