Bryanna Scott-Kay

Board Member at Lakehead University

Dr. Bryanna Scott-Kay joined the Métis Nation of Ontario (MNO) in September 2021 as the Director of Education and Training. As an MNO citizen, she was born and grew up in Fort Frances and later moved to Thunder Bay to attend post-secondary studies. Bryanna holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology, an Honours Bachelor of Social Work degree, and a Master's degree in Public Health. She is a registered member of the Ontario College of Social Work. In 2021, Bryanna obtained a Ph.D. degree in Educational Studies and takes pride in being an alumnus of Lakehead University. Bryanna has worked in various roles, including as a consultant for the Public Health Agency of Canada, a manager of programs and services at Confederation College, and the coordinator of Indigenous education programs at Lakehead University. Bryanna has taught a variety of Indigenous content at Lakehead, Laurentian, Trent, and the University of Toronto. Bryanna has recently wrapped up two terms as a board member at Shkoday Aboriginal Head Start and is currently part of the Thunder Bay Catholic District School Board Indigenous Education Council member. Bryanna was recently part of the search committee looking for the Northern Ontario School of Medicine's first Chancellor
