Sana Sharif

Sana Sharif is currently a Mitacs Accelerate Mentor for 2025-Women in STEM and a Globalink Mentor at Mitacs, holding additional roles as a Graduate Student Researcher at Lakehead University and a Support member of the Student and Postdoctoral Engagement Committee at the Canadian Institute for Military and Veteran Health Research. Since September 2021, Sana has also served as a Steward with the Canadian Union of Public Employees. In a recent initiative with the Digital Research Alliance of Canada, Sana is contributing as a DRI EDIA Champion to enhance AI knowledge among women, racialized groups, and first-generation students. Prior experience includes working as a Research Assistant at Algoma University and providing mentorship to international research interns through Mitacs. With a background in graphic design from Fiverr and a brief internship at Askari Bank, Sana's educational credentials include a PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Lakehead University, an MSc from the same institution, and a Master's from the National University of Sciences and Technology.
