Gene Theodori

Gene Theodori currently serves as the Associate Provost for Academic Affairs at Lamar University since August 2023. Prior to this role, Gene held various positions at Sam Houston State University from 2007 to 2023, including Professor of Sociology, Professor & Chair of Sociology, and Founding Director of the Center for Rural Studies. Gene's earlier career includes significant contributions at Texas A&M University from 1999 to 2007, where Gene worked as an Associate Professor and Extension Specialist for Community Development, among other roles. Academic qualifications include a Doctor of Philosophy in Rural Sociology from Penn State University, a Master of Science in Sociology from Texas A&M University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from PennWest California.
