Kim Ellis is a Professor of Music at Lamar University, where since September 2015, Kim has taught clarinet and saxophone lessons, music history classes at both graduate and undergraduate levels, music education classes (including woodwind methods, band literature, and choral literature), and music theory classes. Prior to this role, Kim served as a Graduate Clarinet Teaching Assistant and Graduate Administrative Assistant for Recruiting and Alumni Activities in the School of Music at The Ohio State University from August 1986 to July 1990. Kim holds a Doctor of Musical Arts in Clarinet Performance from The Ohio State University, a Master of Music from Bowling Green State University, and a Bachelor of Music Education from Illinois Wesleyan University.
