Michael Thorbek

Michael Thorbek has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Michael started their career as a Financial Advisor at Danske Bank in 1986. Michael then worked as a Financial Advisor and Deputy Manager at Forstædernes Bank from 1990 to 1992. From 1993 to 1997, they held the role of Team Leader at Nykredit Realkredit, and then became Deputy Manager from 1997 to 2000. Michael worked as an Area Manager at Nykredit Mægler from 2000 to 2004. Michael then joined Lån & Spar Bank in 2004 and held various positions including Project Manager, Head of Real Estate Finance/Boligchef, and Head of Department until 2016. At Lån & Spar Bank, they were responsible for business development, strategic partner relations, management reporting, market analysis, competitor analysis, and customer retention. Michael also served as a mentor in the internal Talent Management program and was involved in steering committee member on both internal and external projects.

Michael Thorbek began their education in 1983 at Tårnby Gymnasium. Michael then attended Bankskole from 1986 to 1990, specializing in banking. In 1991, they enrolled in Copenhagen Business School and studied finance and real estate until 1997. In 2009, Michael obtained the Prince2 Practitioner certification in project management from the APM Group Ltd. Michael furthered their education at AVT Business School in 2010, completing a Master Class in Marketing by Phillip Kotler, as well as a Master Class in Strategy by Michael Porter. In 2011, they graduated with a CBA degree in Management from AVT Business School. In 2012, Michael pursued coaching at Implement Consulting Group. Additionally, in 2017, they obtained the MLE™ (Member of Leaders Excellence) certification from Leaders Excellence at Harvard Square.
