Koen Kramer has been working in the field of research since 1989. Koen began their career as a Research Scientist at the Institute of Nature Management. In 1990, they moved to the Tidal Waters Service as a Research Scientist, where they were responsible for developing a model to explain the reduced oxygen content of the river Westerschelde (DELWAQ). In 1991, they returned to the Institute of Nature Management as a Research Scientist. In 1998, they joined Alterra - Green World Research as a teamleader Vegetation and Landscape Ecology, Senior Principal Scientist, and teamleader Forest Ecosystems. In 2012, they moved to Wageningen Environmental Research as a Senior researcher team Vegetation, Forest and Landscape Ecology. In 2015, they joined Wageningen University & Research as a Special Professor Quantitative Forest Genetics. In 2018, they joined Land Life Company as a Head Resilience Engineering.
Koen Kramer earned their Dr from Wageningen University in 1996, majoring in Life Sciences. Prior to that, they obtained a Drs from the University of Groningen in 1986, majoring in Biologie (Biology).
