Francisco Matias Cuenca-Acuna has extensive work experience in the field of software engineering and architecture. Francisco Matias is currently employed as a Principal Engineer at LANDING AI since October 2020. Prior to that, they worked at McAfee for 3 years, starting in April 2017, as a Sr. Principal Engineer. At McAfee, they played a key role in the development of MVISION EDR, an endpoint detection and response solution, where their responsibilities included defining and delivering a detection MVP and ensuring the product's efficacy in detecting and investigating adversaries.

Before joining McAfee, Francisco worked at Intel Corporation for 10 years, from 2006 to 2017. During their time there, they held the position of Principal Engineer and worked on various projects. From 2016 to 2017, they led the development of McAfee Investigator, an expert system that aids Security Operation Centers in investigations using machine learning and expert knowledge. Francisco Matias also worked on the Web Enclaves project, a cloud service that enables applications to run across different devices and the cloud.

Francisco's earlier work experience includes a role as an Assistant Professor at Universidad Nacional de Cordoba from 2004 to 2008. Francisco Matias also worked at Ask.com as a Systems Architect and Technical Lead from 2004 to 2006, where they played a significant role in expanding their search engine's multi-billion document index.

Their career began as a Research Assistant at Rutgers University, focusing on resource management for federated computer systems as part of their PhD research from 1999 to 2004.
