Sheila founded Care.com in 2006 and today, the public Company is the largest online care destination in the world with more than 17.8 million members in 16 countries. Sheila's inspiration to found Care.com came from her own life experiences. A mother sandwiched at an early age between care for two small children and ailing parents, Sheila was challenged to find care and knew technology was the answer.

A frequent speaker on women in technology and female entrepreneurship and leadership, Sheila has spoken alongside President Obama at the White House Summit on Working Families, with global political and business leaders at The World Economic Forum, to emerging female leaders at Harvard University, and CEOs at Northeastern University.

For her advocacy and work at Care.com, Sheila has been included as one of the "Top 10 Women Entrepreneurs" at Fortune's Most Powerful Women Summit and in Fortune Magazine, received the prestigious Harvard Business School Alumni Achievement Award, bestowed the Filipino Heritage Award from President Benigno Aquino III of the Philippines, and is a Henry Crown Fellow of the Aspen Institute, a Marshal Memorial Fellow, and Young Global Leader for the World Economic Forum.

Passionate about mission-driven businesses, Sheila was formerly with Upromise, helping families save for college, and later with executive search engine, TheLadders.com. Subsequently, she was an Entrepreneur in Residence at Matrix Partners where she developed the plan for Care.com.

Sheila graduated from Mount Holyoke College, from which she also was received an honorary Doctorate of Humane Letters in 2015. She earned her JD/MBA degrees from Harvard University where she graduated with honors and received the Dean’s Award.
