Andreas Velten

Andreas Velten is a prominent academic and entrepreneur with extensive experience in optics and computational imaging. Since November 2022, Andreas serves as a Co-Founder of Ubicept, while also holding the position of Associate Professor at the University of Wisconsin-Madison since April 2013, where leadership of the Computational Optics group takes place within the Departments of Biostatistics and Medical Informatics, as well as Electrical and Computer Engineering. Additionally, contributions as an Advisor at LandScan and Co-Founder at OnLume highlight a commitment to innovative technology in agriculture and forestry. Andreas is a Fellow at the Wisconsin Institute for Discovery and actively participates in the Laboratory for Optical and Computational Instrumentation as a Co-Investigator. Previous experiences include co-founding Formula Database and serving as a Postdoctoral Associate at the MIT Media Lab. Educational credentials include a PhD in Physics from The University of New Mexico and a Post Doctoral Associate degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
