Helga Sif Fridjonsdottir is an experienced nursing professional and educator currently serving as the Deputy Director General at the Ministry of Health in Iceland since October 2022. With a long-standing role at Landspitali University Hospital since December 2011, Helga manages nursing services in outpatient mental health and dual-diagnosis treatment units. As a co-owner and trainer at Áhugahvöt sf since December 2010, Helga contributes to teaching and training in the field. Prior experience includes teaching and research at the University of Iceland from July 2007 to December 2011. Helga holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Nursing and a Master of Nursing as a mental health nurse practitioner from the University of Washington, along with a Bachelor's degree in Registered Nursing from the University of Akureyri, Iceland.
