Florencia Henshaw is an accomplished academic in the field of Spanish language education, currently serving as the Director of Advanced Spanish at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign since August 2011. In this role, Florencia coordinates multiple Spanish courses and supervises teaching assistants. Additionally, Florencia holds positions as Interim Director of the Foreign Language Teacher Education Program and Director of the Center for Language Instruction and Coordination. Florencia also works with Language Testing International as an ACTFL OPI & AAPPL Rater for Spanish, and with The College Board as an AP Reader for Spanish Language & Culture and CLEP for Spanish with Writing. Florencia Henshaw earned a PhD in Second Language Acquisition and Teacher Education, a Master's degree in Spanish Linguistics, and a Bachelor's degree in Spanish, all from esteemed institutions including the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and California State University San Marcos.
