Paula Farrell, MSHQS, BSN, RN, CPHQ, LSSGB has over 20 years of experience in the healthcare industry. Paula began their career in 2000 as a Registered Nurse in the Medical ICU at Loyola University Medical Center. In 2002, they moved to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where they worked as a Registered Nurse in the Medical ICU and a Continuity of Care Nurse Coordinator in the Case Management Department. In 2005, they joined WellPoint as a Medical Management Nurse. In 2006, they returned to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where they held roles as a Quality Improvement Coordinator and an ACS NSQIP Surgical Clinical Reviewer. In 2010, they joined the American College of Surgeons as an ACS NSQIP Clinical Support Specialist. In 2013, they began working at Northwestern University as an Operations Manager for the Illinois Surgical Quality Improvement Collaborative. In 2016, they moved to Northwestern Medicine as a Practice Facilitator. In 2017, they joined The Joint Commission as an Associate Project Director in the Clinical Quality Measurement Department and a Project Director. In 2021, they became the Director of Quality Measurement at the National Quality Forum (NQF). Most recently, in 2022, they joined Lantana Consulting Group as a Project Director.
Paula Farrell holds a Master of Science in Healthcare Quality and Safety from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, which they obtained in 2021. Paula also holds a Bachelors of Nursing from Millikin University in Registered Nursing/Registered Nurse. Additionally, they hold a Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality® (CPHQ) from the National Association for Healthcare Quality (NAHQ), which they obtained in July 2021, and a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt from Northern Illinois University, which they obtained in April 2018.
