Iris Schmitz

Ms. Schmitz completed an apprenticeship as a chemical laboratory assistant at Bayer AG. From 1989 to 2009 she worked in her apprenticeship, first at Bayer AG and later at LANXESS Deutschland GmbH and Saltigo GmbH. Since 2009, Ms. Schmitz has been a full-time member of the LANXESS and works for the council at the Leverkusen site. In 2011, Ms. Schmitz completed the postgraduate course "Change Management". In 2016, she was elected Chairwoman of the LANXESS Works Council in Leverkusen. Since 2021 she has been Chair of the General Works Council, Chair of the Economic Committee and Deputy Chair of the Group Works Council.
