Dave Modeste has a diverse work experience spanning several companies and roles. Dave is currently working as a Sr Process Engineer at LanzaJet since 2022. Prior to this, they worked at Elevance Renewable Sciences, Inc. from 2017 to 2022 where they held the roles of Consultant, Continuous Improvement Specialist, and Project Manager. At Elevance Renewable Sciences, they provided technical consulting for process development projects and led the design and scale-up of bench-scale process technology.
From 2016 to 2017, they worked at the Workforce Investment Board of Will County as an in-transition employee. Before that, they worked at Elevance Renewable Sciences from 2011 to 2016 in the roles of Engineer Advisor and Process Engineer. In these roles, they applied Six-Sigma tools to support product quality control and applied process engineering knowledge to various assignments, including design, start-up, and operation of demonstration plants.
Prior to their time at Elevance, Dave Modeste worked at The Dow Chemical Company from 1988 to 2011. Dave held various roles, including Energy Optimization Value Improvement Practice leader, Sr Process Engineering Specialist, Curriculum Leader in Engineering Solutions, and Run-Plant Engineer/Process Engineer. In these roles, they were responsible for ensuring efficient energy use, leading process design, developing heat and material balance, and providing technical support to operations teams.
In addition, Dave Modeste was also a BR Regional Chapter member at NoBCChE from 2000 to 2005, where they served as the recruitment chairman.
Dave Modeste earned a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, spanning from 1981 to 1985. Dave then pursued further education, obtaining a Master of Science (MS) degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Tennessee Space Institute from 1986 to 1988. In addition to their formal education, Dave Modeste also obtained a Six Sigma Black Belt certification from The Dow Chemical Company in June 2005.
