Lina Marcela Gonzalez

Lina Marcela Gonzalez is a distinguished conductor currently serving as the Resident Conductor at LA Opera since September 2022. Previously, Gonzalez was the CSO Sir George Solti Conducting Apprentice with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra from November 2019 to November 2023, recognized for winning the International Sir Georg Solti Conducting Apprenticeship. As Artistic Director of Unitas Ensemble from September 2014 to April 2023, Gonzalez focused on promoting Latin American composers and fostering community engagement in Boston. Additional prominent roles include Conducting Fellowships with the Philadelphia Orchestra and Seattle Symphony, and various assistant conductor positions. Gonzalez holds a Doctor of Music Arts in Orchestral Conducting from Boston University and multiple degrees from the New England Conservatory of Music and The Juilliard School.
