Nicholas has previously served as the Director of Patient Care Services at Jackson Health System, the Director of Behavioral Health, Infection Prevention and Control, & Nursing Informatics at Larkin Community Hospital, and a Registered Nurse and Licensed Practical Nurse at Mercy Hospital, Inc. and HEARTLAND OF KENDALL FL, LLC, respectively.

Nicholas D. Torres began their career in health care as a Licensed Practical Nurse at HEARTLAND OF KENDALL FL, LLC in August 2004. Nicholas then transferred to Mercy Hospital, Inc. Miami in August 2005 and worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse there for one year before becoming a Registered Nurse at Star One Staffing in July 2006. In June 2008, they began working as the Director of Behavioral Health, Infection Prevention and Control, & Nursing Informatics at Larkin Community Hospital and served in that role for ten years before being promoted to Director of Patient Care Services at Jackson Health System in June 2018. In February 2022, they were appointed CEO of the South Miami Campus at Larkin Community Hospital, Inc.
