Joel Rios

Joel Rios has a diverse work experience in the field of IT and cyber security. Joel is currently working as a Cyber Security Engineer at Las Vegas Sands Corp. Their previous roles at the same company include Cyber Security Analyst 2 and Cyber Security Analyst 1. Prior to joining Las Vegas Sands Corp, Joel worked at The Venetian Resort Las Vegas | Las Vegas Sands Corp, where they held various positions. Joel served as an Information Technology Security Engineer and played a significant role in automating software processes and managing IT workload. Joel also worked as the IT Vulnerability Management Supervisor, leading a team responsible for preventing issues with Windows-based devices. Before that, Joel worked as an IT Deskside Services Analyst III and II, providing on-site support for IT systems and serving as a technical escalation point. Prior to joining The Venetian Resort, they worked at Wynn Las Vegas as an IT Desktop Support Technician II and at Nevada Cancer Institute as an IT Support Specialist. Joel's earliest work experience was at Wynn Las Vegas, where they worked as an IT Desktop Support Technician I and an IT Helpdesk Support Specialist.

Joel Rios attended the College of Southern Nevada from 2002 to 2003, studying Computer Technology. During their time at the college, they obtained a CompTIA A+ certification in April 2006. In 2017, they received an ITIL Foundations certification from ITIL Certified. In 2018, they obtained a Casino Gaming Workers/Card Dealer License from the Nevada Gaming Control Board. Most recently, in July 2022, they acquired a CompTIA Security+ ce Certification from CompTIA.
