Mark Swaffer

Vice President - Corporate IT at Las Vegas Sands

Mark Swaffer has a diverse work experience spanning over 25 years. Mark started their career at Sprint as a Sr. Data Analyst, providing client support and training in a call center environment. Mark then moved on to become a Manager of System Support, where they were responsible for regional data center operations, LAN infrastructure, and system design and implementation.

In 2003, Mark joined the Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada as the Manager of Technical Services, overseeing all activities of the IT department and managing systems design, development, and implementation.

In 2007, Mark became the IT Director at Credit One Bank, where they directed all aspects of enterprise infrastructure operational support, including data center operations, network engineering, and service desk support. Mark also championed the strategic roadmap for technology refresh and project managed the implementation of technology solutions.

Mark then joined Las Vegas Sands Corp. in 2013, initially as the Director of IT Infrastructure at The Venetian I The Palazzo, Resort Hotel & Casino. Mark later became the Executive Director of Infrastructure and Architecture, where they developed global infrastructure strategies and provided technology guidance to global operations teams. Mark absorbed the global data science organization and transformed their mission to a consultative role, developing reference architectures and standardizing tooling solutions.

Currently, Mark is serving as the Vice President of Corporate IT at Las Vegas Sands Corp. Mark leads a global team of enterprise architects, defining a strategic technology roadmap and providing oversight for architecture reviews of technology solution designs.

Throughout their career, Mark has demonstrated expertise in infrastructure management, technology evaluation, and project management.

Mark Swaffer earned a Bachelor of Science in Business-Information Systems from the University of Phoenix from 1999 to 2001. Additionally, they attended the University of California, Berkeley, Haas School of Business, although the specific degree and field of study are unknown.
