Mike Smith

Mike Smith is an accomplished cartoonist with extensive experience in the field since 1983. Currently, Mike serves as the creator of the NASCAR-themed comic strip "Gearhead Gertie" for King Features Syndicate and as an editorial cartoonist for the Las Vegas Sun, where five editorial cartoons are conceptualized and created weekly. Additionally, Mike has been a nationally syndicated editorial cartoonist for King Features Syndicate since 2004 and draws "StockcarToons," a weekly editorial cartoon focusing on NASCAR Sprint Cup racing for sportingnews.com. Mike also produces a freelance editorial cartoon for USA TODAY and a monthly cartoon caption contest for the publication. Mike's educational background includes a BA in Humanities from Loyola Marymount University, completed in 1982.
