Stephen Whiteside

Stephen Whiteside, M.D., is a highly experienced laser refractive eye surgeon currently associated with LASIK MD since April 2021. Concurrently, Stephen has been involved in clinical research at Austin Clinical Research since February 2005, serving as an investigator for FDA clinical trials focused on ophthalmic pharmaceuticals and biodevices. As a visiting lecturer at The University of Texas at Austin, Stephen presents ongoing lectures on sports-related eye injuries and conducts practical training on eye examinations and diagnostic equipment. Stephen holds various leadership roles including Medical Director at Laser Vision Correction and Regional Medical Director for the Medical Advisory Board of Laser Eye Surgery and Vision Correction. Stephen's military experience includes serving as a Naval Flight Surgeon and contributing to the Warfighter Refractive Eye Surgery Program. Stephen is a graduate of Baylor College of Medicine with a Doctor of Medicine degree and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Human Physiology and Physics from The University of Texas at Austin.
