Anais Amaya

Anais is a builder of partnerships and community programs and an ambitious idealist who challenges communities to break cycles of generational poverty.

In her position as Senior Program Manager, Anais supports the strategic growth of LCF’s Latino Giving Circles in Southern California. She recently moved her family to Los Angeles and launched her business: Raices to support indigenous artisans in Mexico.

Before joining LCF, she was the recipient of the Heroes and Hearts Award by the San Francisco General Hospital Foundation in recognition of her work as the program manager of the ZSFG Health Advocates, a multi-lingual program that proactively screens patients to determine and address their social determinants of health by connecting them to the appropriate community resources. During her tenure, Anais built a health career pipeline program to increase diversity in the healthcare workforce by providing mentorship, leadership development, and career exposure to local students of color. The need for medical providers from local communities is critical and the ZSFG Health Advocates continues to contribute to community and medical provider relationship-building throughout the Bay Area. Anais is also the founder of a community project in her hometown of Ciudad Juarez, Mexico, that supports children and families who have suffered trauma due to the violence in the area.

Anais holds a Bachelor’s in Integrative Biology from UC Berkeley where she learned about the inequitable access to resources that underserved communities face. In her downtime, she likes to stay active and go to baseball games with her son.
