Karlis Vilerts

Karlis Vilerts serves as the Head of the Research Department at Latvijas Banka since October 2015, where leadership is provided to a team of researchers and a research strategy is developed to inform the institution's economic agenda. Previous roles at Latvijas Banka include Advisor, with responsibilities in economic analysis and macroeconomic forecasting, and Senior Economist, focusing on fiscal and monetary developments and their real economy impacts. Prior experience includes work as a Corporate Finance Analyst and Collections Team Lead at Cytec. Karlis Vilerts holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Economics from Latvijas Universitate, along with a Master's Degree in Mathematical Economics and a Bachelor's degree in Finance and Financial Management Services. Additional academic experience includes studies at Università di Trento.
