Mārtiņš Liberts

Mārtiņš Liberts has a diverse range of work experience in various organizations. Mārtiņš is currently working as a Data Science Project Manager at Latvijas Banka since April 2022. Prior to this, they were an Expert on the Sampling and Weighting Expert Panel at the European Social Survey since June 2017. Mārtiņš also holds the position of Lead Expert at Latvijas Universitate starting from March 2023. Mārtiņš has been serving as an Advisory Board Member for the Association of Latvian Young Scientists since March 2016. Moreover, Mārtiņš has been actively involved in the Baltic-Nordic-Ukrainian Network on Survey Statistics, where they were a Steering Committee Member from August 2015 to June 2023 and served as the Chair of the Steering Committee from August 2017 to August 2018. Mārtiņš has also worked at the Central Statistical Bureau of Latvia, where they held various positions such as Deputy Head of Mathematical Support Division, Head of Mathematical Support Division, and Mathematician of Statistics in the Mathematical Support Division from July 2009 to April 2022. Mārtiņš also briefly worked as a Senior Researcher in the Labour Market Analysis Section. In terms of academic roles, Mārtiņš worked as an Assistant Professor at Vidzemes Augstskola / Vidzeme University of Applied Sciences from July 2015 to June 2021. Mārtiņš was a Researcher at Latvijas Universitate from October 2018 to February 2019, and a Lecturer at the University of Latvia from September 2016 to January 2017.

Mārtiņš Liberts has a strong educational background in mathematics and statistics. Mārtiņš studied at Latvijas Universitate for several years, receiving a Dr. math. degree in Mathematics, Probability Theory, and Statistics from 2007 to 2013. Prior to that, they completed a Master's Degree in Mathematics from the same institution from 2004 to 2006. Before their Master's degree, Mārtiņš pursued second-level professional higher education in Mathematics and Statistics from 1999 to 2004 at Latvijas Universitate as well. Mārtiņš completed their high school education at Riga State Gymnasium No.1 from 1996 to 1999, where they focused on Mathematics and IT.

Additionally, Mārtiņš has obtained certifications to enhance their skills in the field. In 2017, they earned a certification in "Analyzing Big Data with Microsoft R Server" from edX. Furthermore, in 2005, they obtained the Master SPSS 10 Certificate from Brainbench.
