Martins Kalkis has extensive work experience in the field of cybersecurity and information technology. Martins started their career in 2003 as a Data System Specialist/Engineer at Latvian Mobile Telephone. In 2006, they served as the Treasurer for ISACA Latvia chapter. In 2008, Martins became the Vice President of ISACA Latvia chapter and later took on the role of Professional Program Coordinator and Board Member. In 2010, they joined Latvijas Mobilais Telefons SIA as the Head of Security Division. Martins then transitioned to become the Head of Cyber Security Division in 2017. Throughout their career, Martins has contributed significantly to the field of cybersecurity and demonstrated leadership skills in various roles.
Martins Kalkis completed their Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Computer Science at Latvijas Universitate from 2001 to 2006. Martins then pursued further studies and obtained their Master of Science (MSc) in Computer Science from the same institution from 2006 to 2008. Prior to their university education, Martins attended Viča Plūdoņa Kuldīgas ģimnāzija, although the dates and specific fields of study are unknown.
