Mark Forrest is an experienced professional in the field of composite materials and manufacturing, currently serving as Blades Research Leader at Offshore Renewable Energy Catapult since December 2018. Previously, Mark held the position of Expert Composite Scientist at Wärtsilä from November 2014 to November 2018 and R&D Manager at Forward Composites Ltd from November 2013 to July 2014, focusing on high-performance composite structures. Mark's career includes significant roles at Vestas, where contributions as Lead Composite Engineer and Associate Principal Engineer involved developing innovative manufacturing processes for wind turbine blades. Mark's early experience includes work as a Research Fellow at Deakin University, leading projects in composite curing processes and lightweight armour systems, and as a Research Engineer at CRC-ACS Pty Ltd. Mark holds a PhD in Materials Engineering and a BSc (Hons) in Chemistry and Materials Science from Monash University.
