Cas Milner is an advanced analytics strategy consultant, focused on guiding the adoption of machine learning, AI, and natural language processing as a subject matter expert in the financial, consumer, and energy industries. He is a “quant”, having launched two hedge funds, managed several equity portfolios, and was Chief Data Scientist of a company matching investors to appropriate investments, using behavioral psychology and natural language processing. His first career was in physics, and he earned his PhD in experimental particle physics at The University of Texas at Austin.
He planned and built numerous experiments at the Superconducting Super Collider, Fermilab, Brookhaven Laboratory, and Los Alamos National Laboratory – a process with many features paralleling the creation of advanced technology businesses. His role in most physics experiments was in designing data-collection electronics, and performing data analysis. His most recent contribution was inventing a system to non-invasively measure the location of melted fuel in the damaged Fukushima Daiichi reactors, using cosmic ray muons.
