Laura's House
Arlette Garcia is an experienced professional in social services, currently serving as a Shelter Advocate Hotline Relief at Laura's House since September 2021. In addition, Arlette has volunteered as a Sexual Assault Advocate with YWCA USA since February 2014. Previous experience includes working as a Case Manager at Wilmington Community Clinic from July 2017 to August 2022 and as a Residential Counselor at Aviva Family and Children's Services for a brief period in 2017. Arlette holds a degree in Sociology with a concentration in interpersonal and group relationships and a minor in Spanish from California State University, Long Beach.
Laura's House
Since 1994, Laura’s House has provided residential shelter, transitional and support services to nearly 6,500 families, and counseling, life skills education and legal assistance to over 68,000 individuals. The mission of Laura’s House is to change the social beliefs, attitudes and the behaviors that perpetuate domestic violence while creating a safe space in which to empower individuals and families affected by abuse.
