P.eng Steve Bergen

Steve Bergen, P.Eng, PMP has extensive work experience in project management and engineering roles. Steve currently works at Lauren Services as a Project Manager and Director of Project Engineering since March 2022. Prior to that, they held the position of Project Manager, Pipeline Engineer at the same company from April 2016 to March 2022, where they were involved in various projects related to liquids and natural gas pipelines in B.C. and Alberta.

From July 2017 until present, Steve has also been the owner of SAB Energy Consulting Ltd. In the past, they worked at Cenovus Energy as a Facilities Engineer from September 2013 to April 2016, where they were responsible for executing oil well tie-ins, pipeline decommissioning projects, and maintenance planning. Additionally, they worked as a Reliability EIT and Facilities EIT at Cenovus Energy from September 2013 to September 2014.

Steve's earlier work experience includes roles as a Mechanical Design intern at Kairama, UBC Mech Project from September 2012 to June 2013, a Student Production Engineer at Cenovus Energy from May 2012 to August 2012, and a Student Field Engineer at Cenovus Energy from May 2011 to August 2011.

Steve also gained valuable experience as an Engineering Co-op at AFCC Automotive Fuel Cell Cooperation Corp. (AFCC) from September 2010 to December 2010, and at Structa Wire Corp. from May 2010 to August 2010.

Steve Bergen, P.Eng, PMP completed their Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.Sc.) in Mechanical Engineering from The University of British Columbia from 2008 to 2013. In addition to their degree, they have obtained several certifications. Steve became a Project Management Professional (PMP) in August 2020 through the Project Management Institute. In March 2017, they obtained the professional engineering designation (P.Eng) from Engineers and Geoscientists BC. Furthermore, in September 2014, they obtained the CMRP certification from the Society for Maintenance & Reliability Professionals (SMRP).
