Karl Chabot

Karl Chabot's work experience includes positions at various companies and organizations. Karl currently holds the role of Senior Lawyer at Lavery since April 2023. Prior to this, they worked as a Teacher and Supervising Attorney at École du Barreau starting from January 2022. Karl also served as a Director on the Board of the Fondation de l'Ordre des dentistes du Québec starting from June 2021. Before their current roles, they worked at Desjardins as an Attorney and Senior Legal Counsel from May 2022 to April 2023. Karl also has experience as an Attorney at LCM Avocats inc. - LCM Attorneys Inc. from November 2019 to May 2022, at De Grandpré Chait from January 2018 to November 2019, and at Menard Martin Avocats / Fernet Avocats Inc. from May 2015 to December 2017. Before their legal career, Karl worked as a Border Services Officer at the Agence des services frontaliers du Canada from 2011 to 2014.

Karl Chabot completed a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Law (LL.L) at the University of Ottawa from 2010 to 2013. Karl then pursued a Juris Doctor (J.D.) at the Université de Sherbrooke from 2013 to 2014. Karl furthered their education by earning a D.E.S.S. in Health Law and Policy at the Université de Sherbrooke from 2015 to 2019. In addition to their academic achievements, they obtained a professional license known as "Permis d'exercice de la profession d'avocat" from the Barreau du Québec in 2015. Karl also completed a course in Canadian firearm safety at the Fédération québécoise des chasseurs et pêcheurs in 2011.
