Sheila Webster

Immediate Past President at The Law Society of Scotland

Sheila Webster has a strong background in the legal field, with extensive experience in dispute resolution and property litigation. Sheila is currently serving as the President of The Law Society of Scotland since 2023, after previously holding the position of Vice President from 2022 to 2023. Prior to their role at the Law Society, they worked as a Partner and Head of Dispute Resolution at Davidson Chalmers Stewart LLP starting in 2009. During their time there, they were recognized as a leader in property and commercial litigation and frequently served as an arbitrator. Before that, they were the Head of Property Litigation and Partner at Bell & Scott from 2003 to 2009. Sheila'slegal career began at Dundas & Wilson in 1992, where they served as an Associate specializing in commercial and property litigation until 2002.

Sheila Webster obtained an LLB (Hons) degree in Law from the University of Aberdeen from 1984 to 1989. From 1998 to 2002, they completed an MBA from the Alliance Manchester Business School. Recently, they pursued a Fellowship in Arbitration from the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, specializing in the field of study of Arbitration.
