F. Rodney Lawler

Rodney Lawler is a founder and principal of LawlerWood. Prior to creating LawlerWood, Mr. Lawler worked in the public sector for 14 years, serving as city manager of two cities in East Tennessee and as executive director of Knoxville’s Community Development Corporation. He holds an undergraduate degree from Birmingham Southern College and a master’s degree from American University in Washington, D.C.

Mr. Lawler is actively involved in community affairs, having held various positions on the boards and executive committees of the Greater Knoxville Chamber of Commerce, the Blount County Chamber of Commerce, the University of Tennessee Chancellor’s Associates, the University of Tennessee Development Council, the Knoxville Young Life Board, Rotary, Kiwanis, Knoxville Salvation Army and Leadership Knoxville. He is a past president of the Tennessee City Managers Association and was the Man of the Year in Dayton, Tennessee. He is currently chairman of the Knoxville Housing Trust Fund and was formerly chairman of the Partnership of Neighborhood Improvements in Knoxville.
