Lawndale Elementary School District
Alaysia Monson is a dedicated social worker with extensive experience in educational settings. Currently serving as a School Site Social Worker for Lawndale Elementary School District since August 2022, Alaysia previously held the position of Lead Therapist at SHIELDS for Families and also worked as a Therapist-School Based. Alaysia's early career included a role as a Research Assistant at AIM 4 Teen Moms and a Social Work Internship at Lawndale Elementary School District, where Alaysia also founded the Expressive Arts Program and Showcase. Alaysia’s background in social work is supported by a Master of Social Work from the University of Southern California and dual Bachelor of Arts degrees in Psychology from the University of California, Riverside.
Lawndale Elementary School District
The Lawndale Elementary School District was established in 1906 with one teacher and 20 students. Since then, the District has blossomed to more than 4,700 students and more than 800 teachers and staff. Lawndale Elementary School District serves students from preschool through grade eight. There are now eight schools in the District. Six elementary schools serve Kindergarten through 5th grade: William Anderson, William Green, Billy Mitchell, Franklin D. Roosevelt, Lucille J. Smith, and Mark Twain. Jane Addams Middle School and Will Rogers Middle School serve students in the 6th, 7th, and 8th grades.
