Lawndale Elementary School District
Lisa Christensen, Ed.D., serves as an Adjunct Lecturer at Goucher College since August 2021 and has been a Language Arts Specialist at Lawndale Elementary School District since September 2017. With a strong background in education, Lisa has held various roles including 6th Grade Teacher at Redondo Beach Unified School District (2013-2017), where responsibilities included mentoring new teachers and piloting a 1:1 Chromebook program. Additionally, engagement with national educational initiatives is evidenced through participation as a Teacher Advisory Group Member for the National Council on Teacher Quality and as a member of the Instructional Leadership Corps. Academic credentials include a Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership from USC Rossier School of Education, alongside a Master's degree in International Education Policy from Vanderbilt University.
Lawndale Elementary School District
The Lawndale Elementary School District was established in 1906 with one teacher and 20 students. Since then, the District has blossomed to more than 4,700 students and more than 800 teachers and staff. Lawndale Elementary School District serves students from preschool through grade eight. There are now eight schools in the District. Six elementary schools serve Kindergarten through 5th grade: William Anderson, William Green, Billy Mitchell, Franklin D. Roosevelt, Lucille J. Smith, and Mark Twain. Jane Addams Middle School and Will Rogers Middle School serve students in the 6th, 7th, and 8th grades.
