Kelly Meehan has extensive experience in education, currently serving as a Teacher at Lawrence Family Development Charter School since August 2012. Additionally, Kelly has been a dedicated volunteer with Save Our Children since January 2000, where responsibilities include training new volunteers for the annual toy drive. Prior positions include Lead Preschool Teacher at The J.F.K. Family Service Center and Student Teacher roles at The Lee Academy Public School and The Graham and Parks Alternative School. Kelly holds a Master's degree in Education from Boston College and a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education from Wheelock College.

The Lawrence Family Development Charter School (LFDCS) is under the blanket of the Lawrence Family Development and Education Fund, Inc (LFDEF): a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. The LFDCS is a K-8 charter school institution serving the local community's youth. In addition, the LFDEF provides a citizenship program, job training, ESL, and a YouthBuild partnership. The school's Mission Statement is “Strong families, working in partnership with the school as advocates for academic achievement, will create an environment where every child has the opportunity to acquire the foundation skills and habits of mind that foster life-long learning, citizenship participation, and personal fulfillment.”
