Suzanna Loper

Director, Learning Design Group, at Lawrence Hall of Science, UC Berkeley

Suzanna Loper has a diverse background in education and curriculum development. Suzanna is currently the Director of the Learning Design Group at the Lawrence Hall of Science, UC Berkeley, a role they have held since December 2021. Before that, they served as the Interim Director of the Learning Design Group from January 2021 to December 2021. Prior to their current positions, Suzanna was the Curriculum Co-Director for the Middle School Project at the Learning Design Group from 2012 to January 2021. Suzanna also worked as a Science Curriculum Developer and Educational Researcher at the Lawrence Hall of Science from October 2006 to January 2021. Earlier in their career, Suzanna worked as an Educator at the Exploratorium in 2005 and as a Science Teacher at Longfellow Middle School from 1998 to 2003.

Suzanna Loper obtained their Bachelor of Science degree in Physics from Yale University, where they attended from 1988 to 1992. Later, from 1997 to 2005, they pursued a Ph.D. in Education in Math, Science, and Technology at the University of California, Berkeley.
