Joanna Mei

Joanna Mei is a Mechanical Technologist at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory since July 2022, bringing extensive experience in workforce development and program management. Previously, Joanna served as a Workforce Development Coordinator at the Association of Manufacturers Bay Area, fostering connections between manufacturers and youth, managing educational partnerships, and delivering training. Joanna's past roles also include Program Manager for the East Bay Health Workforce Partnership, where strategic planning and communication were key, as well as contributions as a Regional Sector Partnerships Coordinator and Partnerships Coordinator in the same association. Prior teaching experience as a Math and Science Teacher and Private Tutor, complemented by research assistance roles at UC Berkeley, showcases a robust educational background, supported by degrees in American Studies and Molecular and Cell Biology from the University of California, Berkeley, and an Associate of Science in Welding Technology from Chabot College.
