Wesam Sakla is a Principal Machine Learning Research Scientist at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, with experience in directing and executing AI research focused on national security since October 2015. Previously, Wesam served as a Research Scientist at the Air Force Research Laboratory from February 2011 to October 2015, and held the position of Information/Control Systems Engineer at Precision Engineering Inc. from July 2002 to February 2005. Wesam began a career in technology as a Software Developer Intern at Chapura from January 2001 to October 2001. Academic credentials include a Doctor of Philosophy in Electrical Engineering from Texas A&M University (2005-2009), a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of South Alabama (2002-2005), and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering from the University of South Alabama (1998-2002).
