Richard Heist

Richard H. Heist currently serves as the Interim Provost at Lawrence Technological University since January 2023. Previously, Richard held the position of Dean and Professor of Engineering at Fairfield University from July 2018 to January 2023, where efforts focused on creating a strategic vision for the School of Engineering. Prior to that, Richard was Senior Vice President, Emeritus, for Academics and Research and Senior VP Academic Affairs and Research at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University from June 2007 to January 2023, overseeing academics and research at the Daytona Beach campus and collaborating with the university's leadership on strategic direction. Richard also served as Dean of Engineering at Manhattan College from June 2000 to May 2007 and held roles as Associate Dean for Graduate Studies and Professor of Chemical Engineering at the University of Rochester between August 1974 and May 2000. Educational credentials include a Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry and Solid State Chemical Physics from Purdue University and a Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry from Catawba College.
