Wesley Taylor

Wesley Taylor is an accomplished academic and creative professional currently serving as an Associate Professor at Wayne State University since August 2023. With a longstanding affiliation with Virginia Commonwealth University as an Assistant Professor since June 2016, Taylor also holds the position of Senior Lecturer of Art and Design at Lawrence Technological University. As the Design/Visual Arts Lead for Complex Movements, a Detroit-based artist collective, Taylor focuses on the intersection of science and social justice through interactive performance. Additional roles include being the Boss of Talking Dolls Detroit and the Art Director/Creative Director/Owner of Emergence Media, a grassroots multimedia company. Taylor's prior experience includes positions as a lecturer and adjunct professor at various institutions, along with an educational background featuring a Master of Fine Arts in 2D Design from Cranbrook Academy of Art and two bachelor's degrees from the University of Michigan.
