Youssef Sawani

Youssef Sawani is an experienced academic and political analyst with a distinguished career spanning multiple institutions and roles. Currently serving as a Member of the Board of Advisors for Lawyers for Justice in Libya and a Non-Resident Senior Fellow at the International Centre for Dialogue Initiatives, Youssef also works as a consultant and peer review expert in the MENA region. Since 1985, Youssef has held various academic positions at the University of Tripoli, rising to the rank of Professor of Politics and International Relations. Additional roles include Director of Studies at the Center for Arab Unity Studies, Executive Director at Libya's GICDF, and leadership positions in the academic department of Political Science. Youssef holds a PhD in International Relations from the University of Kent and a BA in Political Science from the University of Benghazi.
