Billal Kohistani

Billal Kohistani has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Billal is currently working at Layer 6 AI as a Technical Product Manager for AI/ML. Prior to that, they held the same role at TD, where they also served as a Business Analyst and a Group Risk Analyst in the Enterprise Business Continuity & Crisis Management - Operational Risk Management team. During their time at TD, they contributed to the modernization of crisis and incident data collection and reporting, managed enterprise-level crises, and facilitated end-user application training sessions.

Before joining TD, Billal worked at Market Force Information as a Senior Software Support Engineer and a Software Support Engineer. In these roles, they maintained, supported, and developed client-facing applications, performed root cause analysis on issues, and managed development, quality assurance, and production application environments.

Earlier in their career, Billal worked at DocSee Software Inc. as a Product Manager, where they contributed to the development and management of software products. Billal also gained experience as an Information Technology Consultant at the Government of Manitoba, where they designed and maintained a database for the Fisheries Branch Archives.

Additionally, Billal worked at Modern Earth Web Design as a Software Developer, where they designed databases, built websites using various coding languages, and provided client support.

Throughout their career, Billal has demonstrated expertise in technical product management, business analysis, crisis management, and software development. Billal has successfully contributed to projects, implemented process improvements, and delivered results in their respective roles.

Billal Kohistani completed their education at the University of Manitoba from 2010 to 2015, earning a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree with a minor in Business Management. Prior to that, from 2008 to 2010, they attended Robertson College and obtained a diploma in Application Development. In addition to their formal education, they have also obtained certifications such as Associate Business Continuity Professional (ABCP) from DRI International, Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt (ICYB) from Lean Six Sigma Institute LLC, and completed risk management courses at TD.
