Lisa Zhang has a diverse work experience in the field of machine learning and data science. Lisa is currently working as a Machine Learning Engineer at Layer 6 AI since 2020. Prior to this, Lisa worked at RBC as a Senior Machine Learning Engineer, where they led the Data Science team for the RBC Home Valuator product, resulting in significant cost savings. Lisa also played a key role in the deployment of various machine learning projects, including the launch of RBC's credit scoring product. Lisa also worked at GEOTAB as a Data Scientist, where they developed a deep learning-based product for predicting vehicle usage types and designed an Intelligent Telematics System for traffic flow analysis. Before entering the industry, Lisa worked as a Graduate Research Assistant and Teaching Assistant at the University of Waterloo, where they collaborated with Professor Justin W. L. in research projects.
Lisa Zhang completed their education in a chronological manner. Lisa pursued a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Information and Computational Science from Xiamen University, which they obtained in 2015. During the same period, they also achieved a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) minor in Mathematical Statistics and Probability from the same institution. Following their undergraduate studies, they enrolled at the University of Waterloo and obtained a Master's degree in Computational Mathematics in 2016.
In addition to their formal education, Lisa Zhang also obtained several certifications. In 2013, they obtained the Society of Actuaries Certificate from SOA. In 2014, they received the SAS Certified Base Programmer for SAS 9 certification from SAS. Furthermore, they pursued various online courses through Coursera, including Machine Learning, Google Cloud Platform Big Data and Machine Learning Fundamentals, Structuring Machine Learning Projects, Neural Networks and Deep Learning, Convolutional Neural Networks, and Deep Learning Specialization. Lisa completed these courses between 2017 and 2018. Lastly, in 2020, they gained certification in Browser-based Models with TensorFlow.js and Device-based Models with TensorFlow Lite from Coursera.
