Joel Vandermarel

Joel VanderMarel, PEng, serves as the Senior Global Product Manager at LB Foster since March 2013, focusing on Friction Management - Trackside Systems while leading the strategy for a diverse product portfolio that encompasses mechanical, IoT, electrical, software, and chemical products. Notably, Joel spearheaded the division's entry into remote monitoring and IoT technology, successfully developing new hardware devices and transforming the associated SaaS into a profitable venture. Prior experience includes roles as Global Product Manager, R&D Engineering Group Lead, and R&D Mechanical Engineering Supervisor at Kelsan Technologies Corporation, specializing in the development of autonomous, mobile, air-atomizing fluid application systems for the railway industry. Joel holds a Bachelor of Engineering Science in Mechanical Engineering from Western University and is currently pursuing Product Management Executive Education at the Haas School of Business, University of California, Berkeley.
