Lead For America believes that building stronger communities, and a stronger America, starts by serving and leading where you live. As a nonpartisan, 501(c)(3) nonprofit, LFA is building a new generation of our nation’s most outstanding young leaders. These locally-rooted changemakers will make their communities stronger, shift the narrative about which communities are worthy of investment, build friendships across lines of difference, and bring their experiences and relationships with one another to the highest levels of leadership in their communities for decades to come.

LFA's flagship initiative is the American Connection Corps, the nation's premier AmeriCorps service program focused on advancing economic prosperity in rural and emerging communities. Through a one-year paid service placement with a local government agency or nonprofit, ACC helps exceptional people launch their careers and fulfill what's possible in the places where success is too often defined as “leaving and never coming back.” ACC alumni form a bench of local leaders who can bridge divides and spark needed change in the places they call home, ensuring that every corner of America has the great public servants it deserves.

The Outreach and Recruitment Team at Lead For America is responsible for identifying and engaging passionate individuals who are dedicated to community service and leadership. This team conducts targeted outreach efforts, coordinates recruitment events, and manages the selection process for the American Connection Corps. They work to attract diverse candidates from across the nation who are committed to making a positive impact in their local communities. Additionally, they foster relationships with community partners and leverage digital equity initiatives to ensure inclusive and comprehensive recruitment efforts.
