Charlie’s career has been deeply embedded in the policy and operational landscape of the UK and the Republic of Ireland. He has worked for the NI Council for Integrated Education,
the National Trust NI, Volunteer Now and the Electoral Commission. He currently serves as a trustee of the Bryson Group and currently holds a Ministerial appointment to the LocalGovernment Staff Commission. He has previously held Ministerial appointments to key 
public bodies including the National Lottery Community Fund, Fire and Rescue Service,
and as Chair of Conduct Hearings for the Social Care Council. These roles have
required close attention to public accountability, Section 75 equality duties, rural needs, and
the implementation of good governance across ALBs, NDPBs and funded organisations.
He understands the operating reality of the third sector and public-facing institutions -including the balance between strategic oversight, regulatory compliance, and value for money
