Haakon Smeby

Haakon Smeby has a diverse work experience spanning several industries and roles. Haakon is currently the Director Partners&Channels at LeadDesk since October 2021. Previously, from January 2021 to October 2021, Haakon worked as the Director Enterprise Business Norway at the same company.

Before joining LeadDesk, Haakon held prominent positions at Loxysoft. Haakon served as the Chief Sales Officer from October 2015 to December 2020, overseeing global sales activities in Scandinavia, Europe, Asia, and the USA. Additionally, they held the role of Managing Director from October 2014 to December 2020.

Earlier in their career, Haakon worked at Dolphin Software AS, where they held the position of CEO from January 2006 to September 2014. Under their leadership, the company became a leading Scandinavian vendor of contact center and workforce management systems. Haakon also served as the CTO from July 2003 to December 2005, focusing on product management and innovation.

Prior to their time at Dolphin Software AS, Haakon worked at EDB Dolphin AS as the CTO from July 2000 to June 2003 and as a Software Development Manager from January 1999 to June 2000.

Haakon's career began at Telenor Dolphin AS, where they were a Software Developer from May 1995 to December 1998 and from February 1993 to April 1995.

Prior to their professional career, Haakon served as a Sergeant in the Norwegian Armed Forces from January 1988 to September 1988.

Haakon Smeby attended Hallingdal Gymnas from 1983 to 1986, where they studied Physics and Mathematics. In 1986, they briefly attended the University of Oslo (UiO), where they focused on Philosophy and Mathematics. The following year, in 1987, Haakon attended the Befalsskolen for Hærens Samband (Norwegian Armed Forces, Signal Corps) and obtained the rank of Sergeant, specializing in Military Communication systems. From 1988 to 1992, Haakon pursued further education at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), earning a Sivilingeniør (M.sc.) degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunication, and Acoustics.
