Chrystalen Stambaugh serves as the Graduate SURF Program Coordinator at Stanford University School of Engineering since September 2022, organizing educational workshops and managing student engagement to enhance diversity in the graduate pipeline. In addition to this role, Chrystalen has experience as an Undergraduate Researcher in the Dauskardt Group, focusing on the effects of sex hormones on human skin and presenting findings at group meetings. As a Resident Assistant and Operations Manager, responsibilities included managing kitchen resources and budgets for over 150 residents. Other roles include Peer Mentor for the Leadership Enterprise for a Diverse America and research positions at Northwestern University and Caltech, where Chrystalen conducted experiments in stress-induced crack patterns in paints and developed a wearable sensor for chronic wound monitoring. Chrystalen Stambaugh is pursuing a Master’s degree in Materials Science and Engineering at Stanford University, building upon a Bachelor's degree in the same field from the same institution.
