Reza Khorasaninejad

Reza Khorasaninejad has had a long and distinguished career in the field of optics. Reza began their professional career in 2008 as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow and Research Assistant at the University of Waterloo. In 2013, they moved to Harvard University, where they served as a Research Associate and co-invented the first efficient metalens across the visible range. In 2017, they joined Magic Leap as a Senior Optical Engineer, where they built an in-house electromagnetics solver and utilized the metasurface concept for the next generation of AR. In 2019, they became CTO and Co-founder of BRELYON, where they also served as VP of Engineering and Co-founder. In 2021, they joined both Creative Destruction Lab and HAX as Cohort 2021. Finally, in 2022, they joined MedTech Innovator as Cohort 2022. Reza is currently the CEO and Founder of LEADOPTIK.

Reza Khorasaninejad has a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Photonics from the University of Waterloo, which they obtained between 2008 and 2012. Reza also holds a Master's degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Amirkabir University of Technology - Tehran Polytechnic, which they obtained between 2005 and 2008.
